Dental screening and treatment camp at Puzhal-prison

Prison is a vital arm of the Criminal Administration System. The Personnel of the Prison Department have the onerous task of protecting the Society from those incarcerated by due process of law. Central Prison -I, Puzhal is a prison complex located in Chennai (Tiruvallur District), India. It is about 23 km from the city centre. On 29th by Saveetha Dental college for the benefit of the inmates ,this mega camp was inaugurated by Thiru.Rajendran .DIG-Range. Tamil nadu prison Department. Two team of doctors screened around 142 inmates in Convict 1 and convict II. Free oral health packs were distributed. Our service was highly appreciated. Saveetha dental college is granted permission to set up a dental clinic inside the prison 
campus, where our students are able to deliver various dental procedures periodically.

School of Engineering achieved the hat trick win


Saveetha school of Engineering has won the national championship in recently concluded e-week celebrations held from 14th Feb.to 21st Feb.2015.This is the third consecutive victory in the event . School of Engineering achieved the hat trick win.The winning team with Saveetha University Chancellor N M Veeraiyan,

About the event

Saveetha School of Engineering functioning under Saveetha University is organising a 24 hour nonstop “Hackathon” on 20th & 21st Feb 2015 first time in India, to develop applications on various platforms viz., Android, Web, IOS, Windows. Linux etc. This Hackathon would satiate the need of the day in fields such as academics, banking, provisional stores, web designing and games.  The right moment has emanated to make dreams come into reality for the students to take up this herculean task in large numbers. The golden era of a new renaissance, escalating the path of privileges, is aptly bestowed on Saveetha School of Engineering, in an attempt to showcase the blooming potentialities of young minds. 35 teams comprising 150 students would take up this venture in 24 hours’ time duration. As a mark of excellence, the students designing the best useful application would be bequeathed with commendable prizes under the criteria of critical thinking, association of ideas, extemporizing models  and altruistic by nature which will ultimately serve the society.

Inauguration

HACK B Event in Saveetha School of Engineering, Chennai  was inaugurated by chancellor Dr.N.M.Veeraiyan, Saveetha University and presided by chancellor Dr.KhalidGhailan, Azal University, Omen, and Dr.MohammedAlshaabi, Dean Azal University accompanied  by  Vice Chancellor Saveetha University, Registrar, Director, principal, HOD’s of all departments, faculties and students . The Event was started with Ribbon cutting by Chancellor Saveetha University followed by lighting kuthuVillaku by all the dignitaries. Hack B the maiden event has been planned for 24hrs nonstop, first time in India. The event will kindle the student’s out of box thinking, team work, solve problem in shorter duration, coding and implementation. 35 teams comprising 150 students attended the inauguration and been sent to respective labs for coding marathon. The event aims to build application in android, IOS, windows, web and so on from each team.

Valedictory

Chancellor, Saveetha University presided the valedictory function accompanied by Director Madam, Saveetha School of Engineering, Vice Principal, Event convener and Director Skycirus Technologies. Chancellor handed over the first prize of Rs.10000 worth Tablet to the team of students who developed the best app within 24 hrs. Second prize Rs.6000 worth Mobile was also handed over to best developed app by our bellowed chancellor.

The students from Various Departments like CSE/IT, ECE, MECH and CIVIL are participated in the HACK B event, which counts total 174 students, in that from CSE/IT 138 students (Boys – 93, Girls – 45), from ECE 23 Students (Boys – 22, Girls – 1), form MECH 6 students (Boys – 6) and from CIVIL 5 students (Boys – 5). Totally 44 projects from 39 teams formed with 174 students was achieved duration of 24 Hrs.

Chennai:Uni-GAUGE EMeD 2015 - Single entrance exam for multiple universities for the students seeking admissions to Engineering, Medical and Dental at undergraduate level.Exam will be held on 26th April 2015

ERA foundation (Education Rating and Assessment Foundation), a non-profit body has launched “Uni-GAUGE EMeD 2015” for students seeking admissions to Engineering, Medical and Dental at undergraduate level.
Saveetha University joint hands with ERA foundation to conduct  UniGAUGE in 60 centres across the country this year.

With Uni-GAUGE EMeD, candidates seeking admission to B.Tech, B.E, M.B.B.S and B.D.S courses now have the facility to write a single entrance exam and seek admission in multiple universities which are the participating universities of ERA.

These universities will accept “Uni-GAUGE EMeD 2015” score as one of the criteria for admission to bachelors’ degrees in engineering, medical and dental courses for the academic year 2015-2016.

The first Uni-GAUGE EMeD 2015 Exam will be held on 26th April 2015.

Saveetha university is one of the first in Tamil Nadu to utilise this common entrance test - called UniGAUGE - for admissions to undergraduate and postgraduate dental,medical and engineering courses.

Saveetha University,M S Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences, Reva University, Kolar’s Sri Devraj Urs University, Faridabad’s Manav Rachna University, Guntur’s KL University,
Karpagam University, Periyar Maniammai University, Sri Chandrasekharendra Saraswathi Viswa Mahavidyalaya SCSVM University are some of the participating universities. More universities are slated to join the Uni-GAUGE platform shortly.

Eligible candidates should have qualified in second PUC or 10+2 or equivalent examination recognized by State / Central Government.
The last two years of study shall comprise of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics / Biology (PCB/PCM) with English as a compulsory subject.

The fee structure for “Uni-GAUGE EMeD 2015” is as mentioned below:
For Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) – Rs. 1500/- (Rupees One Thousand Five Hundred)
For Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (PCB) – Rs. 1500/- (Rupees One Thousand Five Hundred)
For Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology (PCMB) – Rs. 2,000/- (Rupees Two Thousand)
This fee is non-refundable.
